I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix 3 R* q5 O# r! a' ?- g) \ l+ }6 c9 u! ] M, o
